Learn About Mater Dei’s Programs!
What is Mater Dei Classical Hybrid Academy?
Mater Dei Classical Hybrid Academy (MDCHA) is a Catholic Home Education Instructional Program (HEIP) resource center that offers parent-selected, in-person courses and activities for homeschool and PEP families. Parents remain
responsible for each student’s overall educational program and legal compliance. MDCHA’s classes are designed to enhance and enrich parent-directed instruction.
How does the hybrid model work at Mater Dei?
Students may attend classes on designated center days while parents continue to direct the student’s overall education outside the classroom setting. This approach fosters a balanced educational experience that combines classical learning with home-based study.
What curriculum is used for homeschooling?
Mater Dei publishes course descriptions, materials lists, assignments, and
teacher guidance that parents may use as part of parent-directed instruction. This curriculum is designed to support students’ learning at home, ensuring they receive a well-rounded education that complements their time at the center.
What are the benefits of our classical programs?
Classical learning emphasizes critical thinking, effective communication, and a deep understanding of historical and philosophical foundations. It prepares students for lifelong learning and instills a love for knowledge, rooted in Catholic tradition and values.
Can Mater Dei serve both FTC-PEP and FES-UA families?
Yes. Mater Dei intends to operate as a Home Education Instructional Program provider. FTC-PEP families may use eligible scholarship funds for approved HEIP tuition and fees. FES-UA families may also use eligible scholarship funds for approved HEIP fees when the student is using a district home education status and the family’s purchase, or payment request meets current program rules.
Is Mater Dei open to all families?
Yes. Mater Dei welcomes county home education families, FTC-PEP students, and FES-UA students using a district home education status, subject to scholarship eligibility and program fit.
